Engineer by trade. Explorer by nature.
The short version of a long story
I'm an electrical engineer who spent decades designing RF and hardware systems for critical applications—airplane safety systems, train communications, rocket telemetry. The kind of work where failure isn't an option and attention to detail is everything.
After running my own engineering business for 19 years, I've shifted gears. These days you'll find me on Snow Crystal, my 14-meter aluminum sailboat, where I work daily while planning the next adventure. When not sailing, I trade options and currencies, explore AI-assisted coding, and create Midjourney movie projects.
I've been running Linux since 1991 (Arch on the workstation, Ubuntu for servers). Privacy matters. Open source matters. Building things that work matters more than following trends.
I'm also a longtime Burning Man participant—an early adopter of the radical self-reliance philosophy that shapes how I approach everything from engineering to travel. Currently learning Spanish for future sailing destinations.
What I've built and what I'm building
Designed RF and hardware systems for aviation, rail, and aerospace applications. Safety-critical systems where reliability is paramount.
My 14m aluminum sailboat and floating office. Outfitted with custom monitoring systems, Starlink connectivity, and solar power.
Built my own RV from scratch. Design, electrical, plumbing, and everything in between. The ultimate DIY project.
Exploring the frontier of AI-assisted development. Building tools and workflows that leverage LLMs for creative and technical projects.
Active trader focusing on options strategies and EUR/USD currency pairs. Systematic approach with a healthy respect for risk.
Creating visual narratives using AI image generation. Exploring the intersection of technology and storytelling.
32 countries and counting
From dusty roads to open seas, I've always believed that the best education comes from experiencing the world firsthand. Whether it's the playa at Burning Man or a marina in the Mediterranean, every place has something to teach.
Early adopter. Radical self-reliance in practice.
The ultimate freedom—home goes where you go.
Built my own RV. Explored the continent.
